Eating 3 or more pieces of fish per week can help prevent bowel cancer.
This was revealed in a new medical study.
A joint study by Oxford University and the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) examined the dietary habits of some 5 million people, filling them with various questionnaires to find out what they like to eat more.
The results showed that eating 359 grams of fish a week reduces the risk of bowel cancer by up to 12%.
Similarly, people who eat 124 grams of fat fish a week have a lower risk of developing colon cancer by up to 10 percent.
Researchers say eating fish reduces the risk of colon cancer and should be part of a healthy diet.
“Fatty or oily fish are high in polyunsaturated fatty acids, which have a protective effect on the body and prevent inflammation, while normal fish also contain these fatty acid compounds,” he said.
According to researchers, further research is needed to determine the extent to which fish oil supplements can reduce the risk of cancer.

The results of this study were published in the medical journal General Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, for which the World Cancer Research Fund also provided funding to provide nutritional advice for the prevention of bowel cancer in people.
